Message from the Chief...

It is with heavy hearts the Sturbridge Police Department announces the passing of Retired Police Officer, Wayne Boiteau Sr (radio Call #301). Wayne honorably served the Town of Sturbridge for twenty years before retiring in 1998. Wayne was also the departmentís Court Officer for last several years of his career. Prior to joining the Sturbridge Police Department, Wayne served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Amphion AR13 in the R1 Division. He leaves his wife, current Sturbridge Police Lead Dispatcher Barbara Boiteau, a son, Sgt. Wayne Boiteau Jr. of the Southbridge Police Department, as well as a son Mark, and two daughters, Cheryl and Vallerie. Calling hours will be Monday April 21st from 2pm to 4pm and 5p-8p at Belanger and Boullard in Southbridge. The Funeral will be held on Tuesday April 22nd at 9AM, followed by a funeral mass at the former Notre Dame Parish in Southbridge at 10AM. There will be a graveside service at the North Cemetery in Sturbridge following the funeral mass. Please keep the Boiteau family in your thoughts and prayers.
